I am still waiting to hear from Jennifer, the winner of my MFT Blog Candy. Jennifer, please contact me at jc511 at optonline dot net to claim your prize. If I do not hear from you by Tuesday, July 5, 2011 @ 12:00 PM, I will choose another winner. Thanks!
Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! Today is the second day of MFTeasers for the latest release from My Favorite Things! WOOT! I have two sets to share with you today...but if you come back around 8:00 est, I just may have a third (wink wink).
My first card today features the ADORABLE new Ahoy Matey from the Claire Keay line! OMG...I LOVE him! This card also fits with the July MFT Guest Designer Challenge, Touch of Texture! SO fun!
I started with my friend Jen's Deconstructed Sketch, DS8, for the layout. I stamped this ADORABLE pirate and colored him with Copic Markers. I then fussy cut him out and popped him up on a panel of Fossil Cardstock that I ran through my crimper. Yes, I said crimper...so old school of me no? LOL!! I used the AWESOME First Place Award Ribbon Die-Namics for my sentiment panel, which reads "ARRR!" and then added a button detail with the Button Die-Namics. The top button was cut from Cork for a bit of added texture. All of the edges were distressed and sponged, and the polka dot pattern paper is Dots & Stripes Metropolitan from Echo Park Papers. Tons of machine stitching finish it off.
For the inside, I added another crimped panel, this time out of Wild Cherry Cardstock, and then added another Fossil Cardstock panel stamped with this cutie in silhouette and another sentiment, "You ARRR treasured". SO cute!
Here are the Die-Namics I've used on this card:
My second card today features the beautiful Jolinne - Always Wear A Smile! Isn't she so super sweet? This set also comes with an additional image, the little makeup table and accessories! LOVE! She is colored with Copic Markers and all of the patterned paper is Lime Twist Life Of The Party from My Minds Eye.
I used one of the Dizzy Doily Duo Die-Namics to cut out the panel behind her, and the new Solid Bracket Border Die-Namics for the border. Do you love that big rose? I created it with the AMAZING new Large Rolled Rose Die-Namics...delish! I used the Seeing Spots Embossing Folder for a bit of texture and added tons of stitching. The sentiment, "Always Wear A Smile" was stamped on a panel I cut with the First Place Award Ribbon Die-Namics (which you can see I am unable to put down!).
For the inside, some more patterned paper and another border cut with the Solid Bracket Border Die-Namics, paired with another sentiment from this set, "Thank You For Making Me Feel Beautiful", complete the card! The card base is a GORGEOUS shade of pink...aptly named Bubblegum! YUM!
Here are the Die-Namics I've used on my card:
