Hi everyone! Happy Friday!
I am jumping in for the last day of this session of MFT Summer School! Today we are sharing creations that are monochromatic, that is, creations with similar saturations and hues with different shades of the same color! So fun!
For my monochromatic creation, I went with a variety of teals, going dark with Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock, and then moving lighter with Blu Raspberry Card Stock, Summer Splash Prestige Card Stock, and finishing with Sno Cone Card Stock. They are all in the same color family, with different saturations. I thought it would be fun to create a random pattern using these colors, and I started by cutting a frame from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Triangle Screen Cover Up Die-namics. I then used the Triangle Screen Cover Up Die-namics to cut out Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock, Blu Raspberry Card Stock, Summer Splash Prestige Card Stock and Sno Cone Card Stock. I then randomly (well, I gave it a bit of thought!) added the triangles onto the screen.
I didn’t want to distract from the pattern, so I added a panel of Translucent Vellum wrapped around the card, and I added “make a wish” cut from Silver Sparkle Card Stock (LOVE) using the Brushstroke Birthday Greetings Die-namics. I finished off the card with a sequin, enamel dot and rhinestone!
Thanks SO much for stopping by! Please head on over to the MFT Blog for a listing of all the designers participating in today’s Summer School Lesson!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty monochromatic card! Love the various shades blues/teals, geez I love MFT colors so much, (I had to add that in there, lol!) The vellum overlay is perfect and the brushstroke sentiments in silver..loving that! I didn't realize MFT had the silver sparkle cardstock, but that's going in my cart next time! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOk, how long did it really take to lay out the triangles? I would still be at it!! Great card.
ReplyDeleteAnd lots of patience along with this schemed card. Beautifully done. I am late to class but am enjoying the catch up process.
