August MFT Creative Challenge – Paper Paradise!

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!

It’s time for the August MFT Creative Challenge!  This month, the MFT Design Team is playing in a tropical crafting paradise as we create with products that have a tropical theme!  SO much fun!!

I’ve used quite a few products to create my tropical scene!  I started with the focal element, the fabulous tiki hut, created with the Tiki Hut Die-namics!  This was SO fun and easy to create!  I cut the base of the tiki hut from Chocolate Brown Card Stock, and then the roof from Kraft Card Stock.  Before I attached each panel of the roof, I sponged them with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.  LOVE!

After my tiki hut was created, I started on the background.  I cut a panel of Berrylicious Card Stock using Blueprints 7 Die-namics for the sky.  I then added waves cut from Blu Raspberry Card Stock cut with the Making Waves Die-namics.  I finished the panel off with the sand, cut from Natural Card Stock using the Snow Drifts Die-namics.  The clouds were cut from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Cloud Trio Die-namics, and the sun was cut from Daffodil Prestige Card Stock using the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics.  I added a mat to the main panel using Sweet Tooth Card Stock cut with the Blueprints 3 Die-namics.

Once I had the background set, I added in the rest of the elements, which were cut from X-Press It Blending Card using the Tiki Party Die-namics and BB Polynesian Paradise Die-namics.  I then stamped them using Tiki Party and BB Polynesian Paradise using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and colored them with Copic Markers.  I used the Dot House Die-namics to cut the little sign, and stamped “ALOHA” using Chocolate Brown Premium Dye Ink.
