39 Years Ago...

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!

My hubby, Chris, celebrated his 39th Birthday on Monday (Valentine's Day) and this is the card I created for the old man (lol...he is three years older than I am and I won't let him forget it!).

I used tons of Papertrey goodies on this card. I have all of their cardstock and ribbon, but I rarely have/use any of their stamps. This set, Big Birthday Wishes, from one of their January release, was chanting my name, along with the By The Numbers Dies and By The Numbers Impression Plate. I just HAD to have them all!!

I wanted Chris' card to have a CAS look...he isn't much into fussy cards, so I went with a simple layout and a crisp color combo of Kraft, Smokey Shadow, White & Simply Chartreuse.

I used the By The Numbers Impression Plate to impress a piece of Simply Chartreuse cardstock and then cut out the 3 and 9 using the By The Numbers Dies. I then popped them up on Foam Tape over the Smokey Shadow band. The scallop border was created with the Small Scallop Border die from Taylored Expressions.

I LOVE this sentiment from Big Birthday Wishes, and I love that it's big enough to stand on it's own. I kept the embellies to a minimum on this, simply added two black Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to each number and on the bottom right corner as well.
