Spread Your Wings and Fly!

Hi everyone!  Happy Wednesday!!

It's week 36 of our WSC Getting Sketchy. We have another fabulous sketch for you this week!  Meet MFTWSC36!

SUCH a fun sketch no?  I love any sketch that has an oval or circle focal panel.  While there are SO many amazing new stamp sets just released last night from MFT, I chose to use Pure Innocence Book In Hand for my card today.  I also made a backpack tag using her as well, as my little Meredith has started Kindergarten...um...how is that even possible?  It feels like I just had her!

For my card and tag, I started by stamping this cutie from Pure Innocence Book In Hand in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream Cardstock and colored her with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced her sweater with the same papers I used on my card, A Happy Heart from My Minds Eye.  On the card, I cut her out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and added a layered flower embellishments created with the Pretty Posies Die-Namics, topped off with a button from My Minds Eye and some Cappucino Baker's Twine.  The border was cut from Hot Fudge Cardstock using the Notebook Edge Die-Namics.  I finished off the card with silver brads.

For the inside, I added some more patterned paper, and stamped her again, this time in Purely Pomegranate, and added a sentiment from Pure Innocence You Give Me Wings, "Spread Your Wings & Fly", which is just how I feel about my little MJ now (Lord, imagine how I am going to feel when she goes away to College???).

For her tag, I started with a name tag holder that I had on hand from when I attended CHA in 2010.  After coloring her, I cut her out and popped her up using Jody Boosters.  Using the Mini Banner Day Alphabet, I spelled her name out and stamped it onto one of the banners from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-Namics.  Two borders of Hot Fudge Cardstock with the Notebook Edge Die-Namics, and some silver brads, finish this off.  I have to tell you, it looks ADORABLE on her backpack!

Here are the Die-Namics I've used on my card and tag today!

Here is a picture of my love yesterday at her first day of Kindergarten.  Love.This.Kid.

We encourage you all to play along, and to enter your card in the weekly draw for a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch. All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process. After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher! That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along. We hope you'll join us in 2011.

Check out the FAQ - Wednesday Stamp Club thread if you need any further info on this challenge or help on how to upload your card to the gallery.  Upload your creation to SCS using keyword MFTWSC36 for a chance to win this week prize.  You have until noon Tuesday, September 13th to play along.
