Hi everyone!! Happy Tuesday!
The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where
we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme,
product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create a custom
banner using our assortment of STAX Banner Die-namics. Be sure to
check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who
have a project to share with you today.
I had SO much fun creating my banner! I have a shelf in my living room that I plan on decorating for each season, so I thought it would be fun to create a banner to go with my decor. I went with a banner for Thanksgiving, since I don't have too many decorations for Thanksgiving. Please forgive my shelf decor....we are still decorated for Halloween!
My banner spells out "SO THANKFUL" and I really love how it came out!! All of the banner panels were created the same way. I started by cutting Hot Fudge Cardstock using the Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-Namics. I then added a panel of Kraft Cardstock cut with the Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-Namics again. I then embossed the kraft panels with the Seeing Spots Embossing Folder.
I used Whip Cream Cardstock to cut out the panels with the Rosette 3/4" Die-Namics. I sponged the edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink before attaching them. I then added a panel of Hot Fudge Cardstock cut with the Award Seal Die-Namics. I then layered two circle panels cut with the Circle STAX 1 Die-Namics and Circle STAX 2 Die-Namics out of both Kraft Cardstock and Orange Fizz Felt.
I then spelled out the "SO THANKFUL" using the Highrise Alphabet Uppercase Die-Namics, all cut from Hot Fudge Cardstock.
For the panel between the words I added a flower cut with the new Sunflower Die-Namics and I used Lemon Drop Yellow Cardstock and Orange Fizz Cardstock. I added a Kraft Button in the center of the flower. Each banner also has a button, and I used an assortment of Kraft, Whip Cream, Tangy Orange and Hot Fudge buttons, all of which were tied with Hemp Cord.
Here are the Die-Namics I've used on my banner:
