MFT November Creative Challenge – Contemporary Christmas!

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!

It’s time for the November MFT Creative Challenge, and this month, we are creating holiday cards using non-traditional color combinations!  I super LOVE this challenge as I love to use non-traditional colors for Christmas!

Print

I went with a bright color combo of Tropical Teal, Blu Raspberry, Ripe Raspberry, Cotton Candy and Sunshine!   I started by cutting a panel of Kraft Card Stock using the Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics and then cut it again using the Christmas Tree Cutout Die-namics.  I added a mat of Sweet Tooth Card Stock.  I then started working on the inset panels for the tree, which were all stamped with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder.  I stamped the Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock using the Diagonal Stripes Background, the Blu Raspberry Card Stock panel using the Swiss Dots Background, the Ripe Raspberry Prestige Card Stock panel using Houndstooth Background, the Cotton Candy Card Stock panel stamped with the Grid Background, and finally, the Sunshine Prestige Card Stock panel using the Tiny Stars Background.

The sentiment, “Merry Christmas” is from Hand Lettered Holiday and stamped using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink onto a panel of Sweet Tooth Card Stock and cut with the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics.  I added a Tropical Teal Prestige Card Stock button cut with the Button Quartet Die-namics and tied with Hemp Cord.  The main panel was cut from Blu Raspberry Card Stock stamped with the Swiss Dots Background with Versamark and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder.  I cut the panel from Blueprints 13 Die-namics and then added a mat of Sweet Tooth Card Stock cut with Blueprints 2 Die-namics.
