A Card Purse!! No Way!!

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to an SU! meeting with my upline Selene!! Christina Crawford was the Guest of Honor and she is just AMAZING!! I always saw her picture in my Stampin' Success magazines, and they do NOT do her justice! She is totally gorgeous inside & out and I just had a blast listening to her and watching her demo some projects!!
One of the projects she showed us was a card purse that can hold 4-5 regular size cards (A2) along with envelopes. I frantically wrote down the measurements as she was demonstrating it so I could re-create it!! Now, of course I LOVE cards and cardmaking, and stamps & embellies...I wouldn't spend ALL my free time doing it otherwise, but I also have another love (although I haven't indulged in a new one in ages!), purses!!! LOVE em!! Any size, color, pattern...a new pocketbook just makes me happy!! So, to make a Card Purse...ahhh...heaven!!
For this one, I started out with Riding Hood Red, and used some Bella Rose DSP to dress it up!! I added purse straps with some Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon (yummy!!) and covered the holes I threaded the ribbon through with a 1 Inch Circle of Riding Hood Red, topped with some Button Bouquet Kiwi Kiss Buttons!! Using my 1 3/8 Circle Punch, I created the opening in the top (Christina did that...SO not my idea!!) I stamped the heart from Always twice, once on Kiwi Kiss in Kiwi Kisss ink, and once in Riding Hood Red onto a different pattern of Bella Rose DSP. I then cut them out and layered them together. I went with the *everything* sentiment from Always, as the cards inside are SUPER simple and can be used for any occassion...an *everything* kind of card!!
Here is the card I made to go inside the purse. I was able to make and fit five of these inside the purse, along with envelopes. They are SUPER simple...no stamping!! Now, I know I don't do simple...like, ever...but I really wanted to keep alot of white space and just a pop of color. For someone who LOVES to accessorize and pierce everything in sight, I really like the way these turned out!!
I started with a piece of PTI White Cardstock (I LOVE the thickness of this cardstock for the actual card base!), and used my Scor-Pal to create some score lines. I then ran the polka dot embossing folder from the With Love set of Embossing Folders through my Cuttlebug in between the score lines. I finished the card off with a two inch strip of Bella Rose DSP layered in Riding Hood Red.
I made this little set for my mom. She is totally amazing in every way and I cannot thank her enough (this certainly doesn't say thanks enough!!) for what she does for me ALL the time! I just hope that I can be the kind of mother to Meredith that my Mom is to me!!
This little present won't come as a surprise to my Mom in the morning, as she checks my blog every morning before I see her!! Hope you like this Mom! I LOVE you!!
Thanks SO much for stopping by!!

  1. Ok I feel the same way away about purses. I have to control myself often not to buy a new purse. This is an adorable little set. I may have to whip one up for my Mom too. Mother's are the best! I hope my daughter feels that way too.
