Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks Begin!!

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday!! Today is the first day of sneak peeks for the latest (and greatest!!) Taylored Expressions release! I am SO excited about today!!

Today, the Baker's Dozen get to share peeks of the newest set in the TE Giving Tree Program! For those that may not know, every three months, Taylored Expressions releases a stamp set where $7.00 from the sale of each set goes to a specific charity. The set we are showing you today is the newest in the Apple Doodle Ink collection from Taylored Expressions and is called Pet's Place! I am SO excited to share that $7.00 from the sale of each Pet's Place set will be donated to the Humane Society Of the United States!!

This charity, and the fact that TE is donating money to the HSUS, really touches me. We have four cats in our family, all of which we rescued. The Humane Society is the nation's largest and most effective animal protection organization. The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. They are America's mainstream force against cruelty, exploitation and neglect, as well as the most trusted voice extolling the human-animal bond. HSUS is also the lead disaster relief agency for animals, and they provide direct care for thousands of animals at sanctuaries and rescue facilities, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and mobile veterinary clinics.

We have had three cats since we lost our sweet Zack suddenly this past December. At the beginning of May, a stray cat began coming into our yard, so of course, I fed her. Much to my chagrin, I discovered that she had a litter of kittens!! After taking care of all of them for a few weeks, we were able to find someone to help and ALL of the kittens were adopted! The mama cat was spayed, vaccinated and is now part of our family! We named her Bella and within 20 minutes of bringing her in the house, she jumped up on the couch and fell asleep!!

There are SO many animals that need our help!! It's just one reason to purchase the new Pet's Place set...the other is that it is TOTALLY adorable!!!

For my card, I started by stamping Tena from Pet's Place in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White Cardstock and I colored her (and her little kitten!) with Copic Markers. The layout is the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge, TESC115, and ALL of the cardstock, patterned paper (Max & Whiskers by Basic Grey), Tag, Ribbon & Paw Print Brad are ALL from the Pet's Place Project Pantry Kit!! I LOVE this kit! The papers are DELISH and you have to see the awesome ribbon, Cardstock stickers and embellishments that come with this kit!! AWESOME! This Project Pantry kit isn't just PERFECT with Pet's Place, it's a DREAM for masculine cards as well!

I even finished off the inside of my card! I just HAD to stamp the sentiment, "My cat isn't spoiled, I'm just well trained", which if you are a cat owner like myself, you know just how true that is!! I finished off the inside with some more of the Max & Whiskers patterned paper and the awesome border is a Cardstock Sticker! I sewed all of the layers on the inside and front with my sewing machine!

For my last project today, I used one of the ADORABLE (and oh so easy!) Window Treat Bags from Taylored Expressions! It is cut from the same Max & Whiskers patterned paper and it was so fun to put together! I simply added a border, ribbon (how cute are the paw prints on the ribbon!) and the darling Kitty Cardstock Sticker! I filled the bag with cat treats...and all four of my cats have been lurking in my stamp room since!!

Make sure to head on over to the rest of the Baker's Dozen Blogs for more eye candy featuring Pet's Place!!

  8. Hi Jodi! I don't comment often here, but I love your work. Yes, I know I'm a secret stalker! LOL! But I was so moved by your post. I too am an avid 'voice' for our animal friends. I love my kitties more than anything in this world. They too are rescues. It's because of them that I volunteer with my community for homeless cats. It's so rewarding knowing you've helped these animals that can't speak for themselves. I couldn't be more happy about this release!! Your treat bag is THE CAT'S MEOW!!!
