MFT Creative Chat - Dienamics Storage!

MFT has come up with a new monthly feature and we think it's something you'll really enjoy. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a new monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:

How do you store and organize your Die-namics?
Any fun or helpful Die-namics purchasing strategies you'd like to share?
How do you store extra Die-namics die-cuts?

Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge and get ready to delve into the minds of our creative team!

OMG.  How FUN is this?  I am SO in love with this new monthly feature!  I LOVE to organize my supplies almost as much as I LOVE buying them!!  I think it's part of this stamping sickness!!!

Here is a glimpse into my Die-Namics storage and organization!!!  I use Sterilite storage boxes that I purchased at Target.  I currently have three in use and one more put away for future Die-Namics storage needs (see...sickness).  In this first picture you can see all three storage containers along with my extra die-cut storage (which I just made!!) on top.

I have my Die-Namics separated into the following groups, and you can see in this next picture that each drawer has a tag, created with the Notched Tag Die-Namics out of Fossil Cardstock, listing it's contents:

7. Rolled Flowers (such as Rolled Roses Die-Namics, Rolled Daisy Die-Namics, Rolled Retro Flower Die-Namics, etc. I also keep my quilling tool in this drawer to assist with rolling)

Here is a close up of some of the drawer tags.  They are all tied onto the drawer pulls with Pink Sorbet Twine.

Here is a close up of one of my drawers...this one is the Doily drawer and you can see that I just lay them in...no rhyme or reason in the drawers themselves.

Here you can see how I label my Die-Namics.  My Favorite Things has SUCH a huge offering of Die-Namics, so as soon as I get new ones in my collection, I label them with my trusty P-touch labeler.  As you can see, I generally keep all my attached Die-Namics together.  The only exception to this rule is the Doily Duo Die-Namics.  I separate those as they are larger and easier to use when separated.

Here is how I store my extra Die-Namics die cuts. Now...I must be honest. Until preparing for this post, I simply put my extra die-cuts in this tin. I decorated it especially for this post and I LOVE how it came out! The perfect addition to my stamp room!

I started with some delish new papers from My Minds Eye, Blush.  I then stamped this uber sweet Pure Innocence Butterfly Kisses (one of my favorites), colored her with Copic Markers and then cut her out.  I paper pieced her outfit with some of the same papers.

I die cut a piece of gray cardstock with the High Tea Doily Die-Namics and added it to my card.  I then cut it down to the card size and rounded all the corners.  I added three black brads to one side and tucked a tag that I created with one of the banner dies from the First Place Award Die-Namics, stamped with the Typewriter Alphabet, to read "die+cuts".

Here is a look inside.  I usually amasss quite a stash of extra die-cuts when working on a project, so I tuck them away just in case I need to use them again on another project.

Here are the Die-Namics I've used on this project (both the storage tags and my tin):

Thanks SO much for stopping by!  I hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into my stamp room!!  I can hardly wait to check out how the other girls store their Die-namics Dies!!  MFTeasers start tomorrow night...hope to see you back then!!

The little decorated tin is adorable! I love PI's! But, my favorite idea was the labels on the back...I forget what they are called when I'm posting and have to look it up...I'm so scarfing your idea! Thanks! :p

  5. This is maybe the best idea EVER. I was just thinking the other day that I needed a good way to keep my little dies separated. I have a binder with magnets for my Spellbinders dies but this just looks more efficient for the non-nested dies. BRILLIANT girl!!
