July MFT Creative Challenge!

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!

It’s time for the July MFT Creative Challenge!  This month we are exploring pattern, and exclusively focusing on one of my favorites…stripes!  I LOVE stripes.  Skinny stripes, thick stripes, diagonal stripes…I love them all!  I had lots of fun creating my cards for today’s challenge!

JULY MFT CC Anchored

For my first card, I used last week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, MOJO354, and I used Go Overboard along with the Let’s Get Nautical Die-namics.  I also used the Striped Background and Pinstripe Background for my stripes.  I started with a Kraft Card Stock base cut with Blueprints 13 Die-namics and I stamped the Striped Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  I added a panel of Nightshift Blue Card Stock, along with a panel of Electric Red Cardstock and I stamped the anchors from Go Overboard using Electric Red Premium Dye Ink.

The circle element was cut from Smooth White Card Stock using the Let’s Get Nautical Die-namics.  The Kraft Card Stock center was stamped with the Pinstripe Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  I love the mix of the wide stripes in the background and the skinny stripes on this panel.  It makes me happy!  The anchor was cut from Nightshift Blue Card Stock and I coated it with two coats of Glossy Accents.  I left it to dry overnight, which was hard because I wanted to put this cutie on the card!  I love how it came out!

On the inside, I again used Blueprints 13 Die-namics to cut the Kraft Card Stock panel, and I added a mat of Smooth White Card Stock cut with Blueprints 2 Die-namics.  I added an Electric Red Card Stock panel cut with Blueprints 13 Die-namics and stamped it with the Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  The sentiment, “You Keep Me Anchored”, from Go Overboard, was stamped in Nightshift Blue Premium Dye Ink.

My second card was created for my cousin’s Bridal Shower this past weekend.  These colors are the colors for her wedding, so they inspired both of my cards today!  I’ve used the You’re Invited set along with the Pinstripe Background for my card, along with my most favorite flower…Pretty Posies Die-namics!

I started with a panel of Primitive White Card Stock and cut it with Blueprints 13 Die-namics.  I added another panel of Primitive White Card Stock for a mat cut with Blueprints 2 Die-namics.  I cut the Kraft Card Stock circle with the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics, and then added a trio of flowers cut from Electric Red Card Stock with the Pretty Posies Die-namics and stamped with the Pinstripe Background using Electric Red Premium Dye Ink.  I added a Whip Cream Button to the center of each flower, all tied with Hemp Cord.

I added a panel of Nightshift Blue Card Stock to the bottom, also cut with Blueprints 13 Die-namics, and stamped the Pinstripe Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink,  I added two flags, cut from Primitive White Card Stock using Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics, and stamped “Bridal” and “Shower”, both from You’re Invited, using Nightshift Blue Premium Dye Ink.

On the inside, I again used Blueprints 13 Die-namics and Blueprints 2 Die-namics to cut the main panel and mat, and stamped the Nightshift Blue Card Stock panel again with the Pinstripe Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  The sentiment, “enjoy your special day”, from Birthday Greetings, was stamped with Electric Red Premium Dye Ink.  All of the panels on this card were lightly sponged with Kraft Premium Dye Ink.

  6. Love how you used the same colors to create two different looks and themes, Jodi. I have the nautical set and die on my wishlist. Beautiful! The second card is just so rich with the added ink distressing. I need those flower dies now, too! Fabulously done!
