5 Days To An Organized Crafty Stash – Day Two: Stencils!

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!

We are still organizing with MFT during the 5 Days To An Organized Crafty Stash!  Today, we are focusing on Stencils!

Similarly to my stamp storage, which I featured yesterday, I keep my stencils in a single Fridge Binz.  I store them in CD sleeves but I cut off the flap at the top, so that the top is just open. I add a piece of Smooth White Card Stock to each sleeve before adding my stencil. You can see here how the stencil just slips right out for use.

The stencils fit perfectly in the clear envelopes, and I add labels with my label maker to the top left corner.  You can also see that the name of the stencil appears on the bottom of the actual stencil.

I often create an extra stenciled panel when I making a card, and I keep the extra tucked into the back of the sleeve.  That way, I have a ready made panel the next time I want to use that particular stencil!  The Wildcat Stencil is a favorite of mine!

My stencils live behind my background stamps, which I featured yesterday, and I keep them in alphabetical order for ease in finding the one I want to use.

  4. I love the idea of having an example tucked in the back of the envelope and also keeping with BG stamps. That's perfect for my needs and I think I will borrow that idea from you! Thanks!

  6. Seems like the fridge binz are a great organizing tool. I like your idea of keeping a stenciled page inside with the stencil. Can flip through quicker when the image is bolder and brighter.

  7. Jodi, this is a good space saving idea -- until you need more space, but I definitely don't have all the BG stamps like you do and it would last longer for me... on the other hand, I think I have one of those old SU! 6X6 albums like Amy R did! LOL!
