MFT June Creative Team Challenge!

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!!

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique.  This month, we were challenged to paint, or use paint, on our projects!  SO fun!

Before I jumped back into the stamping bandwagon (I stamped in high school), I was a tole painter.  Though I gave my Mother In Law most of my supplies (she is a super talented tole painter), I did keep some paints and brushes!  I sure am glad I did...they came in handy for my card today!

I went with a super scrappy shabby chic look for my card today.  SO not my normal style, but I did have WAY too much fun making it!

I started with my Kraft background panel and I embossed it with the Stars Embossing Folder.  I then added some white acrylic paint to the edges and to the raised embossed design with a paint brush.  I added some wacky (on purpose) stitching.  I then took some pieces of Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky patterned paper from My Minds Eye and inked up some of the stamps from Own Your Story in the same white acrylic paint and stamped away.  On the notebook panel, I stamped the notebook page from Own Your Story in Close to Cocoa and then cut the edge with the Notebook Edge Die-Namics.  Some more wacky stitching on these two panels as well.

For the focal panel, I started by cutting another piece of Happy Go Lucky papers with the largest die in the First Place Award Ribbon Die-Namics and then using my paper snips, snipped between each scallop for more dimension.  I added white paint to the edges.  I then added a white panel cut with the circle from the Sweet Stack Label Die-Namics, and finally, a Kraft panel cut with the circle from First Place Award Ribbon Die-Namics and then stamped the flourish from Own Your Story in white paint.  After it was dried, I stamped "You're my type of chick" in Memento Tuxedo Black over it.  LOVE the look of this!

I added some, well, lots, of Baker's Twine and then added a tag cut with the Notched Tag Die-Namics which was stamped with "hello" from Own Your Story.  I added some paint around the edges and finished it off with a heart, also cut with the Notched Tag Die-Namics, cut from My Favorite Felt in Sour Apple.  I added a little stitched line through it to keep with the look of my card.

Here are the Die-Namics I've used on this card:
