Thinking of You!

Hi everyone!! Happy Sunday again!!

Yes...it's true...you are seeing an SUO card!! LOL!! I have been able to get in some more stamping time, so I reached for my SU! stamps this morning...they have been getting pretty neglected in my stamp room!!

This is my card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS, FS134, which honors to AWESOME Darlene Pavlick! I had so much fun perusing her gallery for a card to case!!

I have cased her Butterfly Birthday card!! I kept her fabulous layout and basic design with the butterfly in the center, but have changed the following:

1. The colors and patterned paper
2. Used a butterfly die cut instead of a stamp
3. Used a different sentiment
4. Added tons of piercing and bling

I used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP on my card today (love this paper!!) and layered everything in black and white to make it pop! The sentiment, Thinking of You, is from Trendy Trees, and it is the only stamping on the entire card!! I added texture to the Crushed Curry panel with the Harlequin Texturz Plate and a Sponge Dauber with Crushed Curry ink.

I created the butterfly with the Beautiful Butterflies Die from SU!/Sizzi and I finished off my card with TONS of piercing, Black Vintage Brads and four Clear Circle Rhinestone Brads in the center of the butterfly.

Thanks SO much for stopping by again!!

Ink: Basic Black and Crushed Curry

An SUO Challenge To DIE For!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Here is my card for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS, LSC231, which was to use a die cut as your focal image!

I was SUPER excited to play in this challenge, as I have not yet used (well, just once I think!), my Beautiful Butterflies die from SU!/Sizzix!! For my card today, I went SUO (Stampin' Up! Only!).

I used some yummy Razzleberry Lemonade DSP for my card as the background and for my butterflies. The butterflies were sponged with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry to make them pop a bit.

I added a border of Melon Mambo punched with the Scallop Edge Punch and added some paper piercing. I used two ribbons, Whisper White Satin and Melon Mambo Polka Dot, and finished off my card with two Clear Rhinestone Brads to the top and bottom of my card!! The sentiment, Forver Friends, is from Beautiful Borders!

This was SO fun to make! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Monday! Here is my card for today's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS, TLC229 Faux Grid! What a super easy and super fun technique this is! I decided to go SUO on this card...my SU! stamps are not getting enough love from me lately!!

For my card, I started by stamping this big, gorgeous flower from Fifth Avenue Floral in Basic Black onto Whisper White Cardstock, and I added my grid lines with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I used my Grid Paper and a ruler and it was really simple to do!!

I watercolored my flower with Crushed Curry ink and an Aquapainter, and I also watercolored certain parts of my grid with Crushed Curry as well. The patterned paper is Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.

The sentiment, For You, is from Fresh Cuts, and I punched it with my Small Oval Punch and layered it with my Large Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch. I finished off my card with some piercing (shocker!) and my favorite ribbon, Whisper White Organza Ribbon!!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!!

An SUO FS!

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday again!! Here is my card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS, FS124, which honors Christy S.!

Christy has an awesome gallery and it was SUPER hard to choose a card to case! I finally decided to case her Finally... card.

For my version, I kept her awesome layout, but changed the colors, stamps and added TONS of layers!!

I used a color combo of Basic Black, Whisper White and the new Melon Mambo! I also used a piece of Melon Mambo DSP from the Lovely Flowers DSP, a Level 3 Hostess Bundle. The stamps, Flower Lines, are from the same bundle. I stamped the flowers twice each onto Whisper White and watercolored them with an Aquapainter and Melon Mambo reinker. I then cut them out and popped them up on Dimensionals. I added touches of Dazzling Diamonds to each of them using my Two Way Glue Pen.

I created my center border with the Scallop Edge Punch and added some piercing by the sentiment and around the top of my focal panel. I finished off my card with a double ribbon of Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon and Black Gingham Ribbon!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Flower Lines
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Melon Mambo & Lovely Flowers DSP
Ink: Basic Black & Melon Mambo Reinker

No piercing AND no stamping???

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!

Here is my card for yesterday's Sketch Challenge on SCS, SC232!! There is NO piercing and NO stamping on my card! Can you even believe it?? This is also an SUO card!!

So, for my SAB rewards I chose the Lovely Flowers (Hostess Level 3) Bundle (sweet right?), and it arrived today! WOO HOO!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new in colors, but they are not here yet (sob!), so how could I use all this GORGEOUS Lovely Flowers DSP? Well, I just used Whisper White to layer all my layers!!

I used the Lovely Lines Rub-Ons for my focal image and my sentiment on the bottom, which is kind of hard to see, and all the DSP is Lovely Flowers, all from the bundle.

I simply added some Whisper White Satin Ribbon and two Neutrals Brads in white, and called it done!!!

Thanks SO much for stopping by! Off to blurf a bit before bed!!!

Oh! Before I forget, click on the Stamping Around logo to the right to find out all sorts of info! You can register RIGHT NOW for the Connecticut Stamping Around (which I am HOPING I can go to!!) and other locations are on the way too!!!

Warm SUO Wishes!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Tuesday!!! Here is my card for today's Color Challenge on SCS, CC219, Purely Brilliant Orange! Wow...two weeks in a row of some CRAZY colors huh??

My goal with my card was to take these colors and try and make a more elegant looking card, as opposed to the normal cutesy look I would go for with these colors.

Here is what I did!! I stamped Tres Chic in Purely Pomegranate ink onto the Purely Pomegranate Cardstock. I then stamped Beautiful Borders onto my Brilliant Blue center panel, which you can barely see as I covered it with some White Satin Ribbon ;)

My focal image is the large flower from Fifth Avenue Floral and I watercolored it with Only Orange Ink and an Aquapainter.

I added some piercing, stamped the sentiment in Brilliant Blue and made it just a tab, and added three Brilliant Blue Brads that I put over 1/4 Inch Circles of Whisper White!!

This card is SUO...I am just in that kind of mood again today ;)

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Beautiful Borders & Tres Chic
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Only Orange, Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Brilliant Blue, Only Orange and Purely Pomegranate

Hows about a little SUO?

Hi everyone!!! Happy Saturday!!!

Here is my card for today's Inspiration Challenge on SCS, IC180, Country Living Home Office!!! What a GORGEOUS inspiration room!!! I wish I had an office that looks like that!!!!

My card is Stampin' Up! only!!! I have SO much SU! that I never have time to use, and I knew I wanted to use Thoughts & Prayers for my card today! I LOVE this set!! I inked up the flowers with Elegant Eggplant and the stems with Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers and stamped the image onto Whisper White Cardstock.

I went with a Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant and Rose Red combo, which are not colors I would normally gravitate towards, but I really love together!! The Elegant Eggplant and Rose Red panels were textured with the Harlequin Texturz Background. I LOVE these backgrounds...I hope we get some more in the new catty!!!

My sentiment is from Sweet Serendipity and I stamped it onto Rose Red Cardstock with Elegant Eggplant ink and punched it with my Designer Label Punch. I then framed it with some Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware and used two Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads to attach it and add some bling. I finished off my card with some Whisper White Satin Ribbon (from the mini...I am totally ordering TONS of this before the mini ends!!), and of course, some piercing!!!

Chris and I took Meredith to The Bronx Zoo today and we had SO much fun! Here is a picture of Meredith and I, and one of a Polar Bear, which was one of the most magnificent animals at the Zoo!! Chris took some AMAZING pictures of the animals...perhaps he missed his calling? LOL!!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Tuesday!!
I haven't done an SUO card in awhile, so TADA...here's one!!

I made this card for today's Color Challenge on SCS, CC209, Black Rose Artichokes!!

I cut my image to 2.5 X 2.5, and then cut out the leaves that were out of my 2.5 square. The Rose Red and Always Artichoke panels were textured with the Damask Texturz Background, and then I used my sponge daubers with the same colors to make the texture pop.

I added piercing all around, and I created my Always Artichoke circle with the Coluzzle, and the black scallop circle with the Coluzzle and Corner Rounder Punch.

The sentiment is on Label #1 from the Sizzlits Lots of Tags dies (LOVE these!!), and I put a Styled Silver brad on each side.

Hi everyone!! Happy Saturday! Here is my card for today's Inspiration Challenge on SCS, IC169, Room Service Home!!

I was so TOTALLY inspired by this Stylish Trifold Planner and I knew just what I wanted to do once I saw this!! I LOVE these colors together (SO kate spade...no? I LOVE kate spade) and you all know I love me some Regal Rose!!

I kept the layout of the planner as well as the colors. I used the Kiwi Kiss paper from Rockabilly for the top portion, and Regal Rose DSP from Patterns Pack II for the bottom!! Once I had my layers together, I used my Spiral Punch to add that "planner" feel!!

I LOVE the new Trendy Trees set, and in my happy little world, trees come in these colors...OK? LOL!!

I have to say, I REALLY tried not to paper pierce on this card...seriously...but it just looked SO plain without it...so I just HAD to!!!

I added some Vintage Brads on the bottom of my card, and once again, I didn't use any ribbon (gasp!!!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

To Thine Own Self Be Kind!!

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday...again (are you all getting sick of me yet??? LOL!!)

Here is my card for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS, SC217!! For my card, I used one of the Sale-A-Bration sets, Botanical Blooms (I had to mount it first...no time...no time!!).

I stamped the flowers in Basic Black onto Whisper White cardstock. I then watercolored them with Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss inks and an Aquapainter.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White as well, and I punched it out with my Round Tab Punch, and adhered it under my focal panel. This punch is the perfect shape for this sentiment...LOVE that!!

I embossed both Kiwi Kiss panels with the Harlequin Texturz Background, and I used my Sponge Dauber with Kiwi Kiss ink to highlight the pattern.

I finished this off with some piercing (aren't my piercing holes nice and straight? LOVING my new Paper Piercing Template!!) and two White Brads from the 5/16 Neutrals Brads. Every little bit of this card is SUO (even the dimensionals!!!).

Thanks so much for stopping by...again!! :)

For this card, I used the new Trendy Trees set. This is the first time I am getting this inky and I just LOVE it!! The DSP is Rockabilly, and seriously, it is PAINFUL to cut into this paper...it is SO gorgeous (in my opinion!!).

The texture on my Whisper White panel was created with the Small Dots Texturz Background (I LOVE these!!), and I created my half circles with the Coluzzle.

I added a scallop border under my horizontal panel using my Scallop Edge Punch, and I stamped the sentiment BEFORE using the Texturz Plate.

I finished off the card with some Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon and Chocolate Chip Brads!!!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!

I then stamped the flower and watercolored it in More Mustard, and the stamens (is that what they are called???) in Rose Red. I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the stamens (???) with my Two Way Glue Pen.

The sentiment is from Beautiful Borders and I punched it with my Small Oval Punch and matted it with my Large Oval Punch. I added two White Brads from the 5/16 Neutrals Brads (Thank you SU!!!) to the ends of the ovals. My Kiwi Kiss panel was embossed with the Small Dots Texturz Background, and my middle panel uses the new Eyelet Border Punch. Streeeeetch Yourself!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!!! Here is my project for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS, LSC207, Stretch Yourself!!

For this challenge, we were to use two or more "things" that are a "stretch" for us...this was hard for me!!! One thing I SO do not normally do is make boxes! I ALWAYS screw up the scoring!! So, I decided to STRETCH myself and make one! I decided to make a Gable Box and I followed this awesome tutorial on SCS right here. This was actually SUPER easy to make!!

Another stretch for me was to NOT pierce...seriously, I had to put my paper piercing tool and template in the other room while I was making this (OK...not really, but you get the idea right??? LOL).

I also used some Silver Cord on this...never used it before! I had to have it and NEVER like it on anything I make! On this, I threaded it through the silver eyelets on either side of my sentiment panel!

I used two new SAB sets on this card, Polka Dot Punches (I stamped the heart in Riding Hood Red all over the box, but I don't think you can tell from the pic!) and Yummy for my sentiment. I then cut that sucker out...that took a little bit of time!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Yummy and Polka Dot Punches
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White & Bella Rose DSP
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Silver Eyelets, Silver Cord, Wide Oval Punch, Crop-A-Dile, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon and Dimensionals

Get Well Soon!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! Here is my card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS, WT205, Fabric! We were to use fabric on a card...hmmmm.

So, I was a tad stumped on this one, until I remembered my Twill Tape!! I used the largest size of Twill Tape on this card, and I stamped the Get Well Soon sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Chocolate Chip onto the Twill Tape.

My focal image is this gorgeous tree from Thoughts & Prayers (I now want the Decor Elements of this tree for my den!!), and I inked it up with Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers. I added some piercing around the focal panel as it looked a little plain to me.

The background is Urban Oasis DSP, which I used the Small Dots Texturz plate on. The sentiment was stamped onto Kiwi Kiss, which I then cut out with the Sizzlits Lots Of Tags die and then used the Small Dots Texturz plate on as well (These Texturz Plates are BY FAR my fav part of my SU! order!!). I added some Chocolate Chip Brads (can you BELIEVE we have SU! Chocolate Chip Brads??? Totally AWESOME!!) and I also sponged the edges of my sentiment tag and all the Kiwi panels.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White & Urban Oasis DSP

OK...just one more for tonight :)

Hi again!! I am so inspired by my new SU! goodies that I just had to make another card! This one is again for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS, SC215! I still need another Valentine's Day card (or two), so for this card, I pulled out my Happy Heart Day set!!!

OK...so I started with some spankin' new Pink Flamingo DSP (LOVE this paper!!!), and I paired up two different patterns. I used the Large Dots Texturz Plate on my Cameo Coral panel and highlighted the dots a bit with some Cameo Coral ink and a Sponge Dauber.

I stamped this little cutie in Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and I watercolored the image with my SU! inks and an Aquapainter. I then added some Dazzling Diamonds to the heart and finished it off with a pink Flower Brad! I used my White Gel Pen to add a little dot to the center of the brad. I LOVE the tag sentiment in this set, so I pulled out my neglected tag punch and added that to my focal panel. The ribbon is threaded through a Jumbo Eyelet which I attached with my Crop-A-Dile.

I added tons of piercing (Hi...I'm Jodi...I am addicted to piercing), and some FABULOUS White Brads from the 5/16 Brads (I am SO excited that SU! gave us WHITE Brads!! WOO HOO!!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Heart Day
Paper: Cameo Coral, Real Red, Whisper White & Pink Flamingo DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Cameo Coral, Real Red and Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Paper Piercing Tool and Template, Tag Punch, Crop-A-Dile, Jumbo Eyelet, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, White 5/16 Brads, Flower Brad, Two Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Aquapainter, Large Dots Texturz Plate and Dimensionals

Happy Happy...Joy Joy!!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Wednesday!!! Woo Hoo!!

OK...I am a little excited! My SU! order arrived today and I could not WAIT to dive in and make a card using my new goodies!!!

I made this card for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS, SC215!! I started off with some new GORGEOUS Urban Oasis DSP. For my middle panel, and this is my most FAVORITE part, I used the new Sizzix Texturz on a piece of Baja Breeze!!!! SIDE NOTE: OK...so I read all the forums that you could use these Texturz in the Cuttlebug (I do not have the Big Shot), but that it would not be as crisp as a CB Embossing Folder. Needless to say, I was a tad bit nervous that it wouldn't work....but guess what! The first time, it embossed like a CHAMP!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited about that!! Here is the *sandwich* I used...from the bottom up:
A Plate
Texturz Plate - Harlequin side up
Piece of Baja Breeze Cardstock
Tan Embossing Mat (I use this with my Nesties)
Three pieces of cardboard (I found that the cardboard that comes with the DSP packs is PERFECT for this, but start off with two at first...my Bug gets tons of use and I can accomodate all three...I don't want to be responsible for any broken Bugs or B Plates...like I broke my friend Ann's the other night (blushing)
B Plate
Using this sandwich I achieved a fabulous embossed piece of cardstock!!

Ok...back to my card :) After creating my Harlequin panel, I used a Sponge Dauber with some Baja Breeze Ink and just ran it lightly over the pattern to really make it pop!!

My focal panel is a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and I stamped the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral in Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss & Basic Grey. I then stamped the sentiment right over the flowers in Basic Black ink.

I finished off the card with the GORGEOUS black ribbon from Valet Ribbon Originals, Two Silver Brads from the Neutrals 5/16 collection (I will NOT hoard these...I will NOT hoard these...), and of course, tons of piercing!!!

I had SO much fun making this card!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral
Paper: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Whisper White & Urban Oasis DSP
Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey and Basic Black
Accessories: Paper Piercing Tool & Template, Texturz Plate (Harlequin), Valet Ribbon Originals, 5/16 Neutrals Brads, Sponge Dauber and Dimensionals
