Hope And A Future {August SFYTT}!

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!

It's the third Saturday of the month (um...where did August go???) and that means I am back to share another SFYTT card with you!  Here is another peek at this month's sketch:

This month, the SFYTT Sisters are sponsored by the AWESOME Verve Stamps!  YAY!

I have LOTS of Verve, so it took me a while to go through my stash and choose what I wanted to use.  My cousin is going through something pretty rough right now, something that there is really no stamp for, and when I saw this gorgeous stamp from Jeremiah 29:11, I knew it was perfect to create a card for her.  It really is such a beautiful message, and that's what she needs right now, the promise of hope and a future.

I stamped the verse in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Sweet Tooth Cardstock and then cut it out and layered it with another piece of Sweet Tooth, but popped up with Jody Boosters.  I love the look of that.

All of the patterned paper is A Mother's Love from My Minds Eye, which is SO gorgeous (in my opinion!).  I added a trio of roses cut from Tangy Orange Cardstock using the Mini Rolled Roses Die-Namics from MFT.  I added leaves cut from Sour Apple Cardstock using the Flower and Leaf Trio Die-Namics.

For the vertical panel, I used a flag that I cut with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics.  I added three brads on the other side of the flag to balance out the trio of roses.

Please head on over and check out what my fabulous SFYTT Sisters have created today right here:

The August SFYTT Is Here!

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!

It's the first Saturday of the month and that means a brand new Sketch For You To Try!  Here is this month's sketch!

This month, the SFYTT Sisters are sponsored by the AH-mazing Verve Stamps!  YAY!  LOVE me some Verve-age!

For  my card I used two different Verve sets...the sentiment is from the fabulous Words of Wisdom set and the flowers are from the gorgeous Great Friend set.  All of the patterned paper is PB&J from Basic Grey.  I started by stamping the sentiment onto a panel of patterned paper and then cut it out and layered it using Rectangle STAX 1 Die-Namics and Rectangle STAX 2 Die-Namics from MFT.

I stamped the flowers using various colors of Fresh Ink (my latest obsession, love this ink!) and arranged them in a trio, adding silver brads to the center.  The leaves were cut with the awesome Leafy Branch Taylored Die from Taylored Expressions.  I wrapped some delish Ivory/Cream Woven Checked Ribbon from The Ribbon Carousel around the horizontal panel and I tied it with a bit of Champagne Twine.

I {Heart} U!

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!!  I have another card to share with you using the fabulous November SFYTT!

This month, the SFYTT sisters are sponsored by the fabulous Verve, and my card today features some Verv-age that I have been waiting to get inky!  Yay!  SO glad I finally got to use these goodies!

For my card today, I used the fabulous You and I stamp set from Verve.  Everytime I glance at this set in my stamp cabinet, I start singing You and I by Lady Gaga.  I've paired this set with the coordinating I Heart U Die Set, also from Verve.

I cut the "i" from patterned paper and the "u" from cardstock, and I stamped the "you" stamp from You and I repeatedly onto it.  All of the patterned paper is from Mischevious from My Minds Eye, Halloween papers...yes...but I like the masculine feel of them for all year long.  A bit of bakers twine and two silver brads are the only embellies on this card.

You still have a few more days to enter your card for the November SFYTT Sketch!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!

The November SFYTT Is Here!

Hi everyone!!  Happy Saturday!  It's the first Saturday of the month, which means a new SFYTT Sketch!  Take a gander at the November SFYTT, pretty fab no?

This month, the SFYTT Sisters are sponsored by the one, the only Verve!  Sigh...I LOVE Verve.  Like, L.O.V.E. Verve.  I wish there were more time in the day to ink up the OODLES of Verve sets in my collection.

I have SO many Verve sets that have yet to see ink, so you can except to see lots of Verve creations with this sketch this month!  Originally, I was going with a different set, but the two I used today were calling my name!
I started with the focal panel, and stamped "Life Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Wonderful" from the beautiful Words of Wisdom set onto a piece of patterned paper.  All of the papers on my card today are from Breeze by My Minds Eye.

I then pulled out the AMAZING Great Friend set and stamped two of the flowers onto some more patterned paper, and then cut them out.  I attached them to the card with Jody Boosters and added different buttons to the center of each flower.

The background was embossing with the Seeing Spots Embossing Folder and I added some crochet trim, a border cut with the Little Open Scallop Strip Die-Namics from MFT, and a bit of selective stitching.

Head on over and check out what my fabulous SFYTT sisters have created with this sketch today!

Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone!! Happy Saturday! Ahhh...sweet, sweet Saturday! I have had SUCH a long week at work with practically NO stamping time and NO blog hopping time at all! I hope to rectify both of these this weekend!!

Here is my card for today's SFYTT! Another GORGEOUS sketch from Jen!!

For my card, I pulled out some of my Verve stamps! I have OODLES of them and hardly ever have to time just play! Needless to say, I had tons of fun making this card!!

I used Big Wish by Verve for my card and stamped the cake in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar Crest White and colored it with Copic Markers. I added some hints of shimmer with a Clear Spica Glitter Pen to the candles, icing and the flower. The flower was also stamped twice, colored with Copics and then cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

All the patterned paper is from Ducks In A Row by October Afternoon, and I used Cool Caribbean and White Cardstock. I sewed each layer on my sewing machine and added white brads. I also added some yummy satin ribbon that I knotted instead of making a bow. The sentiment, "Happy Birthday" is also from Big Wish, and I cut it out and embossed/layered it with Circle Nestabilities.

Check out what the AMAZING SFYTT sisters have done with this sketch right here!!

Mojo Thursday?

Hi everyone!! Happy Thursday!!

It has been WAY too long since I have been able to play along with Julee's AWESOME Mojo Monday Challenges! I am so excited that I was able to make a card for this weeks MOJO132, even though it's on a Thursday instead of Monday!!

Dear friends of ours just had a little girl, and as we will be seeing them this weekend, I knew I better get a move on and make a card for the new little bundle of joy!!

I used the utterly darling Practically Perfect set from Verve for my card. I ADORE this set and it's always what I reach for when I need a baby card!!

I stamped the bunny in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Couture Cardstock and colored the image with Copic Markers. I cut it out with Square Nestabilities and sponged the edges with Memento Canteloupe & Memento Tangelo. I added Crystal Stickles to her hair bow and necklace.

The patterned paper is (if I remember correctly) Georgia Peach from SU! and I used Regal Rose & So Saffron as my cardstock choices. I came to the realization the other day that I still have OODLES of SU! cardstock and it would be a shame to not use it, so I am trying to incorporate it when I can.

I sewed all the layers on my sewing machine, and I added four white brads, one in each corner. The Regal Rose bow was made using the AWESOME Bow Easy (how in the world did I ever live without this???), and I added a little sentiment panel with "It's A Girl" also from Practically Perfect, cut out with Circle Nestabilities and sponged as well.

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Practically Perfect by Verve

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Canteloupe & Memento Tangelo
Accessories: Circle & Square Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Crystal Stickles, White Brads, Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, Bow Easy, Sewing Machine and Foam Tape

Chocolate Bunnies!!

**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY OTHER TWO POSTS TODAY...TE RELEASE DAY AND A SB CARD!!**

Hi everyone! Happy Friday again!!

My dear friend Jackie Pedro invited me to be her guest for her AMAZING color challenge for the Verve Spring Fling!! I was honored that she asked me and SUPER excited to pull out my Vervage...which I totally LOVE and haven't had time lately to use (which is a sin to be honest!!!)

Jackie's color challenge is Yellow, Chocolate & Green, and I decided to use my brand new, and already much loved, Quite Contrary paper from My Minds Eye! Jackie used Basic Grey Origins and her card ROCKS!!!

For my card, I used Chocolate Bunnies by Verve and I stamped this sweetie in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream Cardstock. I colored the bunny with Copic Markers and then paper pieced the eggs with the same Quite Contrary paper I used on my card.

The layout is this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS, SC270, and I really had so much fun using it!! I sewed each of my layers with my sewing machine and my main panel, and the sentiment, were cut out with Nestabilities and sponged with Memento Canteloupe to make them pop. I added two Vanilla Brads and a Basic Grey Button and called it done!!

Head on over to the Verve Blog to play along with all the amazing Spring Fling Challenges and get a chance to win some delish new Vervage!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and thanks to my pal Jacks for inviting me to play along!!

RockStar!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Tuesday!!

Here is my card for today's Color Challenge on SCS, CC237, Crushed Black Razzleberry, and for yesterday's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, MOJO105!

So...I received, on MONDAY, the Verve Stamps I ordered SATURDAY...yes...ONE day in between ordering and receiving...how CRAZY fab is that? Pretty crazy fab I'd say ;)

I used two AMAZING new Verve sets, You Rock and Starstruck!! I LOVE these new sets!

I started with Razzleberry Lemonade DSP from SU! Using my 1 1/4 Circle Punch, I punched four circles from Razzleberry Lemonade, and four circle from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.

I stamped this AWESOME star from You Rock in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and cut it out. It is popped up on a layer of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP that I stamped a design from Starstruck on in Memento Tuxedo Black.

I created a border with the Fleur De Lis punch from EK Success, as I like how it mimics the Fleur De Lis pattern in the star.

I finished this off with piercing (duh!) and a double ribbon of Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbons and two Black Brads from American Crafts. The sentiment is from Starstruck and it is stamped directly onto the Crushed Curry cardstock, which was sprayed with some YUMMY Plum Metallic Maya Mist!

Thanks SO much for stopping by! I will be back in just a few short hours...There She Goes sneak peeks begin TONIGHT!! WOOT!!

Holy Verve Challenges Batman!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! This is a SUPER long post...just warning ya!!

So, today I realized that TOMORROW is the Verve release...and I realized...Julee must have challenges right? Yep...FIVE of them! Well, I LOVE me some Vervage (grin!), so, tonight, starting with Survivor, all the way through Project Runway, I made FIVE Verve cards! I don't think I have EVER made five cards in one night before!!!

OK...I won't go into CRAZY details on each of these...I think that they are pretty much self explanatory, but I will just give y'all (I like to talk like I am from the South...my TE girls know all about that!) a brief summary of each one!!

My first card is for Julee's Sketch Challenge, SEP09A! Of course, Julee ALWAYS has awesome sketches, and I had SO much fun making this! All the DSP on this is the retired SU! Rockabilly, and I used Express Yourself from the last Verve Stamps release!! I masked the heel so that I had a pair, colored them with Copics, and then added a highlight of Moonlight Smooch to each shoe! I also added TONS of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles (I am REALLY hoping that we were NOT supposed to combine challenges...I did a separate one for Lynda's Bling Challenge!).

My second card is for my sweet friend Charmaine's Color Challenge, SEP09B! The layout is MOJO104, which I didn't get to do when it was posted. I went with the SU! colors for my card, which are Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Taken With Teal and Old Olive!! For this card, I finally inked up Party Time, and the balloons were stamped FOUR times, colored with Copics and then layered with Foam Tape. This card is UBER dimensional in real life! I also used Bountiful Backgrounds to stamp the polka dot pattern on the Dusty Durango panels. The Rich Razzleberry background and the Taken With Teal Circle Panel were embossed with my new Circles Impressabilites by Spellbinders (LOVE these!!), and I finished this off with two White Brads by American Crafts.

My third card is for my darling friend, and fellow DDA, Michelle's Color Challenge, SEP09C! I also used another Mojo Monday Sketch for this one, MOJO101. Again, I went with SU! colors for my card, Mellow Moss, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla! SUCH yummy colors!! For this card, I used one of my most favorite Verve sets, Delightful & Delicious!! Again, I embossed my Pumpkin Pie background with Impressabilites, this time I used Diamond & Stars! I used two different retired DSP's from SU! on this card, Bella Rose & Summer Picnic. This was the first time I stamped an image in Memento Rich Cocoa, and I colored my coffee cup with Copic Markers. I did add some Coffee Shimmerz to the "coffee" part of my cup!! I finished this off with three Vanilla Brads in each corner, by American Crafts!!

My fourth card is for my SUPER fab friend Jackie's challenge, which was to distress, SEP09D! I was SCARED of this challenge! Personally, I tend to like clean lines, so distressing is a technique I find sort of hard to do! That being said, I ADORE how this card came out (and that hardly ever happens!!). The layout is MOJO96 and I started by stamping this GORGEOUS sentiment from the Romans 12:13 Plain Jane in Memento Rich Cocoa, and after cutting and embossing my panel with Circle Nestabilities, I left the paper in the nestie and sponged some Soft Sky ink all around it. LOVE the effect you get with this technique!! The patterned paper is the UBER yummy Brunch pattern from the Early Bird Collection at Cosmo Cricket! ALL the panels were sponged and then distressed with my SU! Cutter Kit. I finished this off with a ribbon that I colored with a Copic Marker, and two Very Vanilla Brads...that you can't even really see!! Thanks for making me go out of my comfort zone Jacks!!

My fifth, and last card of the night, is for the amazing Lynda's Challenge, SEP09E, which was to use bling!! This card was SOOOO much fun to make!! Once again, I used a Mojo Monday Sketch for this card, MOJO93. I used my very first Verve set, Snow Wonderful for my card! I stamped this ADORABLE snowman in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White Cardstock, colored him with Copics, and then, using my Two Way Glue Pen, added Crystal Transparant Glitter to him so he is SUPER blinged out!! To continue the "bling", I added three Crystal Circle Rhinestone Brads to the corner, and the DSP on this card is the retired Ski Slope from SU! I did add tons of piercing, which I pretty much did on all five of my cards!!

I can't wait to see the entire Verve Release tomorrow night!! I am also SUPER excited that I was able to get all five of the challenges done!!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!

The Music Of Life!

Hi again everyone!! Happy Monday still! I have been going to bed early ALL weekend...and now, when I should go to bed early tonight to get ready for work tomorrow, I feel like stamping up a storm!!!

Here is my card for today's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, Mojo103!!! Awesome sketch, as usual!!

I had this Early Bird paper from Cosmo Cricket out on my stamp table, so I used it again! Twist my arm...this paper is my favorite!

I pulled out a piece of Choice Buttercream Cardstock that I cut out with my friend Ann's Label 9 Nesties!! I totally MUST have these nesties! I only own Label 1, which I can do without...but these are a necessity!!

I stamped the sentiment from Floral Symphony from Verve Stamps onto my Label 9 with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then stamped just a bit of the leaves and a tulip from Miracles Blossom, also from Verve Stamps. I stamped the tulip again, colored them both with Copic Markers and then popped up the tulip on Foam Tape!!

I decided to NOT paper pierce on this card...so instead, I added TONS of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles all around the Label 9 as well as my Scallop Edge. The Sunflowers Medium & Rose Medium panels were run through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

I am not sure if you could consider this a CAS card (clean and simple), but this is about as CAS as I get!!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!

Mojo Friday!!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Friday!! I have TONS of stuff to do tonight...but what am I doing instead? The Mojo Friday challenge on the Mojo Monday Blog!! LOL!!

Here is my card for MojoFriday, and awesome sketch by Theresa!!!

For my card, I knew I wanted to use this AWESOME new Plain Jane released last Friday from Verve Stamps, To Risk!! Love this quote!!! I TRIED to channel Julee and sponge my panel...yeah, that didn't work out so well ;)

I am also LOVING the new Verve background set, Bountiful Backgrounds, and I used two different patterns on my card, one for the background and the other on my circles!!!

I think my circles are smaller than the sketch calls for...hope that's ok!! Once again...NO PIERCING on this card!! Yikes!!

I did, however, use my fav Whisper White Organza Ribbon along with Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon, and I finished off my card with Black Brads from American Crafts.

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!

Good For the Soul!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Thursday! Here is my card for the Day #4 Sketch Challenge on the Mojo Monday Blog, MojoSarah! This was SUCH a fun sketch to play with!!

I used my brand spankin' new Express Yourself set from Verve Stamps...I could not wait to ink up this fun polka dot heel!!!

I stamped the heel in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White Cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers. I framed my heel in Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities!! LOVE how it looks!!

I went with a Black/White/Cameo Coral combo for my card, and the patterned paper is from Pink Flamingo DSP from SU!!

I added two Black Brads by American Crafts (I LOVE these brads!!) and a double ribbon of Whisper White Organza (I must re-order this soon...I am going through my roll SO fast!!) and Black Gingham Ribbon, both from SU!

You may notice that there is NO PIERCING on this card...shocking right? I did not lose my paper piercing tool (thank Goodness!!), I just wanted to go for a more "clean" look on this one!!

The background was stamped with the polka dot background from Bountiful Backgrounds by Verve Stamps in Versamark onto the Cameo Coral cardstock...love the look of that!!

Thanks SO much for looking!!

Mojo Monday Turns 100!!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Here is my card for Mojo Monday, #100, Mojo100!! 100 awesome sketches...wow...that is ALOT of sketches!! I haven't been able to play in the Mojo Monday challenges too much lately, but since I REALLY love my Verve stamps (did you SEE the stamps Julee released this past Friday? Oh my WORD!!), I am really going to make it a point to participate each and every Monday (fingers crossed!!).

For my card, I started by stamping the stamps and flower from Miracles Blossom by Verve Stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White Cardstock, and I colored them with Copic Markers. The flower was stamped again, colored with Copic Markers, cut out, popped up on Foam Tape and I added a coat of Candelight Shimmerz to it!

The sentiment, Thinking of You, is from Circular Sayings from Verve Stamps, and it is punched and layered on 1 1/4, 1 3/8, 1 1/2 and a Scallop Circle Punch. I used Scallop Circle Nestabilities for the scallop circles behind my focal flower panel.

I used some retired Ginger Blossom DSP from SU! on my card (I still love this paper and have TONS of it!!), and put Vintage Brads in the four corners of my upper panel, and both corners of my lower panel.

Each and every panel was pierced...:)

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!
P.S. Mom...I hope you are happy that there is something new on my blog now ;)

Happy Anni-VERVE-sary Verve!!!

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!!

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!

I LOVE Verve Stamps! I have quite a few and LOVE when I have a chance to get em' inky!! I knew I HAD to participate in this Birthday Hop as not only do I ADORE my Verve Stamps...I ADORE Julee too!!!

For my card today, I started with an AWESOME sketch created by Mercy for her Tuesday Sketch Challenges! This one is for MTSC32!!

I started by stamping this leaves and tulips from Miracles Blossom from Verve Stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White Cardstock, both from Taylored Expressions. I then stamped the tulips again, colored all the images with Copic Markers, and then cut out my tulips and popped them up with Foam Tape, also from Taylored Expressions. I love how the tulips go "out of the box". I gave them all a coat of CandeLight Shimmerz for a bit of shine!!

The sentiment, "thanks", is from Circular Sayings from Verve Stamps, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Soft Sky Cardstock and then ran through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

All the colors that I used on this card (Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Kiwi Kiss & White) came directly from this AWESOME Cosmo Cricket paper, Tuesday from the Girl Friday Collection. I swear, I cannot stop buying & using Cosmo Cricket Paper! It is absolutely my latest obsession!!

I finished off my card some TONS of paper piercing, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Blue Bayou Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and brads that are the exact shade of Soft Sky...I THINK they are from Basic Grey but I could be totally wrong ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VERVE!!! The next stop on this Anni-VERVE-sary hop is at JUSTINE'S BLOG!!

ETA: I just noticed that some posts are not up...the next post up on the hop is MAD SKY DESIGNS!!! Thanks!!

Thanks SO much for hopping by!!!

Gettin' my Mojo on!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!!! Here is my card for today's Mojo Monday Sketch, Mojo80!! The Mojo Monday Sketch Challenges are one of my guilty little pleasures, and I was SO excited to be able to play today!!

For my card, I used a newly released Verve set, Miracles Blossom!! I LOVE this set SOOOOO much!!! All the paper on this is from Sweet Always DSP, and I had to move my ribbon from the sketch to accomodate my *out of the circle* image!!

I stamped the flower pot and flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice White Cardstock from Taylored Expressions. I then colored the flowers and the pot with my Copic Markers. I punched out what fit in the 1 1/4 Inch Circle Punch, and the cut out the rest of the stems and the flowers with my paper snips. I added them on after I assembled my layered circles.

To finish off my card, I added three Chestnut Brads from American Crafts, and my Regal Rose panel was textured with the Small Dots Texturz Background and then sponged with Regal Rose ink to bring out the pattern.

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!!

Attention! Hut, two, three, four...

LOL! Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!!

Here is my card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS, FS107, which honors Jami aka SgtStamper!!

I LOVE Jami's gallery and she is super sweet too!!

I chose to case her gorgeous Happiness Makers card!! I LOVE her clean yet elegant layout and how the focal point is the quote on vellum!!

I kept her layout and also used vellum, but changed the following:

1. Used different stamps
2. Used different colors and papers
3. Changed the brad placement (had to cover the adhesive you could see through the vellum!!)
4. Stamped an image behind my quote.

For my card, I used Jeremiah 29.11 from Verve Stamps. I needed a communion card for my niece and I think this quote is just perfect for a communion. I used Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette for my card, and the panels of pink are Bella Rose DSP which I used the Damask Texturz Background on. After running it through my bug, I used a sponge dauber and highlighted the embossed design with Pink Pirouette ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
