Center of Attention Product Spotlight - Stencils & Maya Mist!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!!!

Today I get to tell you about TWO super fun products that are now available at Taylored Expressions, Stencils from The Crafter's Workshop and Maya Mist!!

These two products can be used together for some SUPER fabulous results, however, today, I used each of them separately and made a card each using these products!!

For my first card, I focused on the Stencil from The Crafter's Workshop. I used the Stitch Doodle Dot Template, which, for a paper piercing obsessed girl like myself, is a dream come true!!

I stamped the beautiful birdcage image from the newly released Wings of Joy set from Taylored Expressions, and colored it with Copic Markers. The sentiment, which is from the same set, was cut out with Circle Nestabilities, and I highlighted some of the words with Copic Markers.

The layout for my card is one of Taylor's Sketch Challenges, TESC84, and ALL of the cardstock, patterned paper, chipboard snowflake and red sparkly fluff are from the Christmas Key Ingredients. The button is part of the Very Merry Christmas Bundle.

After preparing all of the panels for my card, I used the Stitch Doodle Dot Template to create the scalloped paper pierced border...LOVE that!! I also used the template on the corners of my focal panel! TOOOO much fun!

I really had alot of fun using this template...and the possibilities are simply endless! You could lay the template over your cardstock and spray some Maya Mist on it, you could use a spoge and ink and use it as a true stencil, or even embossing paste!

This particular stencil is ALOT of fun for me as I normally use a regular old piercing mat for all my piercing, and now I can actually pierce a DESIGN! No way! You could even pierce you design and then stitch in it...how fun would that be???

Speaking of Maya Mist, I also have a card today that I used Maya Mist to actually COLOR my cardstock AND ribbon!!!

For my card, I used Plum Metallic Maya Mist, and I knew I wanted to make a non-traditional Christmas card with it!

I started with Choice White Cardstock and using Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder, I stamped and clear embossed the star background on my mail panel, my beautiful wise men scene on another panel and the sentiment panel, which reads "Wise Men Still Seek Him", all of which are from the GORGEOUS new set from Taylored Expressions, Christmas Blessings.

I then sprayed my Plum Metallic Maya Mist over each panel. I did make a few passes with the spray to get the coverage that I wanted. I have used some of these types of sprays before, and I was SO happy that I didn't get gloppy bubbles with the Maya Mist. It comes out in a nice, controlled stream...WAY less mess! I did spray my panels over newspaper, because it was giving my desk accessories a bit of shimmer!!

After I sprayed each panel, I just took a paper towel and blotted them, removing the Maya Mist ink from the clear embossed areas.

The Maya Mist was SO much fun to use, I really couldn't stop...so I decided to see if I could successfully spray my ribbon!! I took a length of Whisper White Organdy Ribbon and placed it on a piece of newspaper. I then sprayed both sides with the Plum Metallic Maya Mist and let it dry for about 10 minutes. I am THRILLED with how it came out! The ribbon is still super soft, and I love that I can spray my ribbon to match my paper now...it opens up a whole new world!
